Fashion Photoshoot in the Old Mill, Halesworth

Elegant Exposures recently conducted a captivating fashion photoshoot in the historic mill in Halesworth, Suffolk. The project focused on blending fashion and photography to showcase visual harmony. I collaborated with the talented stylist, Sue Hardy, on this endeavour. Together, we created a striking editorial look.

The Elegance of Styling

The theme of our photoshoot was “The Visual Harmony of Fashion and Photography.” Sue Hardy’s impeccable styling captured this theme beautifully. She curated a selection of outfits that juxtaposed the rustic backdrop of the old mill, creating an atmosphere of elegance.

Location Photography and the Setting

Location photography refers to shoots conducted outside a studio, often in unique settings. The old mill in Halesworth provided an ideal backdrop for our shoot, thanks to the generosity of Hektor Rous. The location’s rustic charm created a contrast with the stunning outfits.

The Outfits

Sue Hardy selected three standout outfits. The turquoise blue dress, an original 1950s ball gown, featured a tulle skirt and silver floral embroidery on the bodice. The pink dress, from the 1980s, had a tiered lace skirt and a fitted satin top with lace and ribbon edging. The third outfit was a red satin dress with peplum detail. These outfits brought a unique flavour to the shoot, enhancing visual harmony.

The Model’s Versatility

Riannah, our model, was incredibly professional and adaptable. She was even willing to pose in unconventional settings, such as a pile of rubbish, to achieve the perfect shot. Her dedication added depth and character to the photos, contributing to our fashion editorial look.

We aimed for a fashion editorial look in this shoot, blending fashion and photography into a cohesive narrative. This was achieved both in camera and through post-editing. We also captured a behind-the-scenes video, adding depth to the project’s narrative.
